Following from last session - about climate strike, is the beginning of the mass extinction.
Today, we talk about 1 of the animal that is in endanger list, our Malayan Tiger.It is believed that there are fewer than 200 Malayan tigers left in the country.
It caused by illegal trade due to high demand on the black market & defrorest that destroy their habitats.
Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, patron for the “Save the Malayan Tiger” campaign, was quoted by New Straits Times (NST) as saying:
“We must not forget that the Malayan tiger is a symbol of our nation’s Jata Negara (coat of arms). We cannot let it go extinct.”
Few months back, national zoo welcomed with 3 cubs. She announced the names for three tiger cubs under the care of Zoo Negara — Wira, Hebat and Melur.
